It is our mission to provide the highest quality veterinary medical care possible to the pets and members of our community. We are determined to offer these services with the latest available knowledge and technology combined with compassion and empathy for the pets entrusted to our care.
We strive to maintain an environment of teaching and learning within our organization. We commit the necessary resources to educate our doctors and staff in order to provide the latest and best medical options for our clients and their pets. At the same time, we are constantly endeavoring to educate our clients on all aspects of pets care; as more educated clients always result in happier and healthier pets.
Everyday we dedicate ourselves to being the best advocates possible for our patients, and to prove ourselves worthy of the trust their people have given us.
The hospital has been part of the community for more than 30 years! Originally located in a small rental building on South Street, the hospital provided veterinary care for dogs, cats, horses and livestock with a few trucks and a staff of six. Since then our practice has grown with the community; it now has two facilities that together have more than 10,000 square feet of space dedicated to health care and boarding of your pets. The staff now has four full-time doctors, Dr's. Steve Anderson, Frank Komin, Joshua Freng and Heidi Ditmyer, alone with a support staff of more than 20 people. We are all dedicated to providing the best possible care to the canine and feline members of your family.
The staff is trained and the hospital equipped to deal with virtually any health issue from well-puppy and well-kitten care, early disease screening and prevention, and treating advanced disease processes. We also perform complicated surgical or dental procedures. For those cases that may require a specialist, the doctors work closely with many referral veterinarians and hospitals. We also offer behavioral and geriatric counseling and even some alternative treatments, including homeopathy and accupuncture.
To support these treatments, the hospital has a complete pharmacy, an in-house diagnostic laboratory, a state-of-the-art surgical suite, a dental treatment and surgical suite, and complete diagnostic capabilities including digital X-rays, dental X-rays, endoscopy, tonometry, and ultrasonography.
Everyone at Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital understands the special bond we develop with our pets, the bond that makes them such vital members of our families. We also value the trust you have placed in us by choosing us a partner in the medical care of your pets. For more than 30 years we have never taken that trust lightly, and it is our promise that we never will.
